This depends on the mineral content contained within your teeth and results can therefore vary between individuals. Mineral content depletes with age and mineral content can also be affected by Tetracycline (antibiotics which you may have taken as a child). Generally speaking, we will get your teeth to as white as they were when you were a teenager (sometimes whiter). Some people prefer not to have this level of whiteness, and should request prior to a procedure not to have their teeth whitened too dramatically. The Beyond system will get your teeth to as white as they will naturally go.
Immediately! There is no waiting around for 2 or 3 weeks to see the results. As soon as you are finished with your treatment, you will look in the mirror (usually with great surprise). If we do not whiten your teeth, you will not be charged for the procedure.
It is normal to feel a very slight sensitivity after Laser Teeth Whitening and many experience none whatsoever’. This is because the gel we use helps to open up thousands of tiny 'tunnels' in your enamel, which in turn allows the dentine to be penetrated (the dentine is what controls the colour of a tooth). After treatment, it takes about 24 hours for these tunnels to fully close and during this time, people can experience some sensitivity when breathing in sharply, or whilst eating very hot or very cold foods. However, most people do not experience any sensitivity after the first hour and some experience none whatsoever.
Whilst some agencies will tell you that results are permanent, we are here to tell you the truth. Although it might take several years to get back to your original tooth shade, teeth begin the staining process as soon as you walk out of our clinic. Factors such as age and stress can cause discolouration. Excessive lifestyles also promote teeth staining (such as drinking red wine, tea, coffee and smoking cigarettes). Our treatment will get your teeth back to as white as they can naturally go. After that, the staining process begins all over again! We are able to provide further advice in person, on how to maintain your new teeth colouration.
No! The effect on teeth is no different to the effect from commonly ingested foods or regular dental procedures.
The whitening process will only remove intrinsic staining from natural teeth. However, the gel will help remove all extrinsic staining from teeth, including false teeth. This means that your false teeth will be 'cleaned' back to their original colour.
If you are planning to have a crown, bridge, filling or false tooth, it is recommended that you first have your teeth whitened. Your dentist will then be able to match the shade of the false tooth to your new colour.
Tooth whitening products were legally classified as cosmetics in 2001 and are therefore more appropriate to the beauty industry than the dental industry. The White Room acts as a distributor for many dentists and is responsible for providing training to dentists in the use of this equipment. All of our technicians are fully trainied, certified and insured. The procedure itself is very simple and is completely non-invasive.
Yes, more than you would imagine. A bright, sparkling smile can make a very big difference to a person's confidence and self esteem. Studies have shown that people with whiter teeth smile more readily and tend to make more eye contact whilst engaged in converstaion. People with whiter teeth also do not revert to putting their hand over their mouth when speaking! Typically, people will not immediately note that your teeth have been whitened, but they will think to themselves that you are looking very healthy, without putting their finger down to why this is the case!
